This painting, like many of my abstractions, is done in an improvisational method. I often start with a blind scribble, and then I respond to that. And then that process keeps going until I feel the piece is balanced. And by that I mean that it kind of evokes a feeling or resonates on some frequency that might be difficult to identify, let alone define. I am happiest with the piece when it feels like it almost looks like something recognize, but…
I can't quite tell what that is, which allows the peace to be many things to many people.
