About this artwork
This piece, done in a mode of working which I call "Water Drawing", seeks to capture that feeling of waking up from a dream and knowing you've just had a powerful dream, but, for the life of you, you just can't remember anything solid about.... you capture only the last whispered edges of its fleeting form and are left with only the residue of the feeling of your memory.
Luke Jackson, a painter and visual artist raised in a richly creative family, masterfully works with oils, acrylics, charcoal, graphite, and mixed media, drawing on both classical training and diverse global influences. His techniques traverse abstract expressionism, conceptual minimalism, innovative "water drawings," and immersive, large-scale paper works marked by repetitive lines and torn edges. His art evokes the fleeting, dreamlike states between clarity and mystery, resonating with emotional ambiguity and the poignant persistence of seeking meaning in life’s transience and transformation.
