About this artwork
CIRCUS: A series of works centered around the Guinean artists of the Baobab Circus. I sought to immerse myself in their highly precise gestures, first by photographing them in action. Then I reworked the photos digitally and with paint to create a series of pigment prints between mysteries and presences. I created this work to capture the energy and vitality of a moment of intense performance, using vivid contrasts to reveal the strength and passion…
of each gesture. This blend of light and shadow transports the mind into a vibrant universe, ready to energize and inspire every room where it is exhibited. It is a visual celebration of human power in motion.
