About this artwork
CIRCUS: A series of works featuring the Guinean artists of the Baobab Circus. I sought to immerse myself in their very precise gestures, first by photographing them in action. Then I reworked the photos digitally and with paint to create a series of pigment prints between mysteries and presences.
In this work, I create forms that appear to float in an indefinite space. The enigmatic silhouettes captured in intense shades of yellow and ochre suggest… fleeting moments of life, inviting the observer to delve into an introspective journey. It is an invitation to reflect on our own experience and existence in this metaphysical world in perpetual motion.
