About this artwork
And if to live was to travel this earth in its simplest and most authentic way. A walk in the Aboriginal sense of the term, when walking consists of getting lost in order to better find yourself.
Find yourself in contact with this earth and its elements. This is what this canvas seeks to express, through its simplicity, its sobriety and the palette of its colors.
The background is brushed with brown ochre, it is of course the ground, luminous and… raw, run through with drips of white ink, like a skin covered with tribal motifs, ritual signs. An almost telluric grid, inhabited here and there with blue, red, yellow and green, simple colors like those that make up our daily environment.
This canvas, through the way the colors are applied, also confronts us with wear and the passage of time.
We find again here, these themes of timelessness, memory, this quest for authenticity and the essential so dear to the artist.
