About this artwork
Order and chaos, strength and gentleness... I believe these are the words that best define this painting.
On the white background of the canvas rustling noises emerge, reflections of my gestures while I painted. These gestures which are the basis of this work are spontaneous, impulsive.
These gestures favor the expression of a raw, gushing energy, of an emotion.
Each feature, each black line has a distinct texture, evoking feathers, scratches… or bursts of energy. I painted, among other things, with “brushes” that I made from branches and leaves.
Contrasting with the intensity of the black, I added a few touches of sepia beige for a subtle dimension, bringing softness and depth. It was the painting that called for it...!
I hope that with this painting, the eye will wander, discover and rediscover, free to interpret and feel.
