About this artwork
In creating this painting, I channeled the raw intensity of emotion through expressionism, melding acrylic, collage, pastel, and charcoal to manifest a visual dialogue on the human condition. Gestural lines and vibrant hues convey a narrative of internal complexity against external demands, a dynamic yet harmonious blend of mediums that invites profound contemplation and hopefully it would add an invigorating presence to any space.
While human achievement… has been rapid, there remains a void between our advanced state, rapid improvement and our moral capabilites. In other words science outpaces morality. We become victims of our own ingenuity and our inability to control the tech we create.

Marc Rayner is an Australian artist based in Sweden who has exhibited his works nationally, as well as in Sweden, Monaco, France, Qatar, Italy, India, South Korea, Denmark, and Japan. The key to his artworks is the creation of 'quasi-landscapes' rich in text and design, or flat and almost devoid of information. This 'distorted zone' is a place where Rayner's tormented, disenfranchised, and often unfortunate characters exist. He is drawn to outsider artistic styles and naive art in broader terms.
