About this artwork
"Eve and Adam" is my interpretation of the myth of the first man, who was actually a woman, depicted not as a moment of sin, but as a moment of awakening. Eve emerges from a lush, almost dreamlike garden, her gaze steady and unperturbed, embodying both innocence and silent defiance. The serpent perches on her shoulders not as a threat, but as a symbol of knowledge: intimate, inevitable, and alive.
Below, Adam almost a reflection, appears upside… down, rooted to the earth like a living shadow, suggesting the duality of human nature: man and woman, instinct and conscience, reflection and reality, spirituality and carnality; in the composition, the boundary between above and below blurs, connecting choice and consequence, creation and loss.
The vibrant foliage and warm, organic tones evoke Eden as a living force, beautiful, fertile, and unforgiving while the painterly texture of the oil brings a tactile depth that emphasizes the physicality of flesh, nature, and emotion.
« The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper. -W.B. Yeats »
Marco Busoni is an Italian artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Spain and France. His first love remains the landscape, which he interprets through the lens of his contemporary impressionistic style. In addition to natural scenes, Busoni also creates figurative compositions that are more fantastical. Through his art, he endeavors to capture the wonder of the light that surrounds us through the "curious eyes of a child".
