About this artwork
The subject of this painting is inspired by the city of Otranto, a wonderful historic city in Puglia, a pearl on the turquoise sea. The painter avoids conventional and oleographic images but focuses his attention on the dazzling brightness at the harbor, where pittosporum plants, which are typically small shrubs for hedges, become majestic trees here thanks to the climate.
