Still, the Sun Kept Shining
Sometimes, life feels heavy — full of emotions, change, and moments we don’t expect. When I started this painting, it was calm and beautiful… but maybe too safe. I needed to break it open, to let the energy move freely, to let light find its way through the chaos.
In this piece, the brushstrokes are wild and full of life — layers of pinks, violets, and golds dancing together. It’s about how light never really disappears;… it just hides for a while, waiting to return.
Even when love fades or life shakes us, the sun keeps shining.
And so do we.

Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
