About this artwork
In “Claim 141,” I explore the tension between dynamism and stillness. The color composition—with dominant tones of turquoise, violet, and vibrant pink—arose from the desire to capture a moment of departure and lightness. I wanted to create a surface where movement is palpable without tipping into restlessness.
When I paint, I let myself be guided by the flow of colors. I work in layers, often over several days, until the composition reaches a balance… that feels organic. In this work, my particular aim was to create depth – not only spatial, but also emotional.
“Claim 141” is, for me, a picture that breathes. It is allowed to shimmer, to glow, to change – depending on the light, mood, or viewing angle. I hope that it also evokes a feeling of inner spaciousness in others.
