About this artwork
10 folded steel panels. Several steel panels have been heated to over 500 degrees centigrade which creates a heat bloom on the metal surface, whilst water is dropped onto the panels from a height. This is inspired by the 1st law of thermodynamics which states that matter cannot be created nor destroyed only transferred from one form to another. As the droplets vaporise on hitting the heated steel panels, the particles rise up into the air and condense…
thus creating a cycle of change. This work was shown at Maxwell's recent solo art show at No20arts Gallery in Islington London.
