About this artwork
“Berlin 77” explores historical and social tensions and transformations with a composition of horizontal bands and overlapping fragments, Rosella builds a collage that reflects on visual language as an unstable archive of memory and identity.
Broken texts, upside-down images, strong colors and gestural signs intertwine on a surface made deep and vibrant by the back technique on plexiglass. The work thus becomes a perceptive grid in which the past… emerges and dissolves, revealing the contradictions between order and chaos, visible and hidden.
With “Berlin 77”, the artist continues his investigation of the city as a critical and poetic space, making collage a means of resistance to the cancellation and simplification of reality.
