About this artwork
Manopol reflects on the relationship between power, mass and image, through a layered composition in which historical photographs, saturated colours and visual fragments of strong symbolic impact alternate. The reference to 1980 suggests a reflection on the forms of public and media representation in an era of great transformations.
The collage plays with the contrast between documentation and distortion, between the rigor of the news and the expressive… freedom of the pictorial surface. The dominant colors — orange and fuchsia — destabilize the photographic objectivity, revealing an emotional and critical subtext.
“Manopol” is a work that crosses time and deconstructs its images, proposing a lucid and sharp vision of our relationship with collective memory.
Maurizio Rosella, trained within the walls of the Uffizi, expresses himself through painting, installations and urban art. His techniques, such as reverse painting on glass or plexiglass, create an evocative barrier between artist and observer, conveying the depth of the soul. His works, full of conceptualism, arouse a sense of sophisticated alienation and introspection.
