About this artwork
BIG is a dense and layered work, where fragments of sacred images, historical architecture, technological elements and pop icons coexist in a visual composition of strong impact. The title, simple and direct, evokes grandeur, excess and complexity: a manifesto of the current culture of the image.
Through collage and the transparency of plexiglass, the work becomes an optical and symbolic palimpsest in which sacred and profane, past and present contaminate… each other. “BIG” is a portrait of our time: fluid, fragmented, crowded — yet precise in its visual tension.
