About this artwork
German 61 is an intense and layered composition, where geometric, material and photographic fragments intertwine in a visual narrative suspended between memory and abstraction. The plexiglass support, worked on the back, gives depth and transparency, transforming the surface into a dynamic place, changing in the light. Oblique lines, bold colors and corporeal inclusions dialogue in a vertical structure that evokes an internal tension, almost an attempt… to recompose identity. The title, enigmatic and chronologically evocative, opens historical or biographical suggestions without ever declaring itself openly. “German 61” is a Work that leads our gaze towards a poetics of fragmentation always in perpetual transformation.
Maurizio Rosella, trained within the walls of the Uffizi, expresses himself through painting, installations and urban art. His techniques, such as reverse painting on glass or plexiglass, create an evocative barrier between artist and observer, conveying the depth of the soul. His works, full of conceptualism, arouse a sense of sophisticated alienation and introspection.
