About this artwork
In my sculpture "Am I the perpetrator?" I use acrylic and plaster to depict a profound exploration of self-reflection and human responsibility. The faceless bust:
Am I the perpetrator represents the upper body of a woman.
The focus of the sculpture is on the hand resting on the woman's shoulder.
This hand tells the story of her brother, who was always by her side and tried to protect her from sexual abuse during her childhood.
The hand symbolizes… the support and protection the brother offered the woman. It represents the bond between the siblings and the unconditional love they feel for each other.
The brown color of the sculpture indicates the resilience of the woman, who continues to stand upright despite the traumatic experiences.
It tells the story of a woman who, despite the darkness of her past, remains strong and receives support from her brother.
