About this artwork
This is a common scene in seacoast Maine, a lobster boat laden with bins of bait fish, trailed by a cloud of seagulls chasing the boat (hence the title of the painting) eager for a handout. I saw this particular lobster boat leaving Customs House Wharf in Portland, Maine. I really liked the colorful wake of the boat as it headed out for a day of fishing and the constellation of seagulls in different poses around the boat.
