About this artwork
Blaine is a lobsterman who fishes out of Cape Porpoise. The scene is a cloudy fall day, and I was struck from watching onshore that the only vivid color in the scene was the lobsterman's bright orange overalls. In painting this scene, I decided to create warm grays for the water to contrast the cooler grays of the fishing boats.
The painting is extended onto the sides of the 1.5 inch thick canvas.

« I am drawn to art that gives me a glimpse of what life was like in the past. I strive to do the same for those viewing in the future. »
