About this artwork
I saw this rusted tugboat in a dry dock in a Portland, Maine boat yard awaiting repair. I really liked how the orange rusted areas played against the blues of the boat. For the rust on the side of the boat, I plastered different oranges onto the painting with a palette knife to give a three dimensional effect.
