About this artwork
I'm fascinated and inspired by Adelphi Paper Hangings dual-fulcrum presses. Adelphi makes wallpaper that is meticulously reproduced from original documents and hand-printed using the same methods and materials employed in the 18th and 19th centuries. So I asked the owner, Steve, an engineering question about the big press they use. He graciously responded by giving me his actual press plans. I built a smaller version of his big wood cut press which…

I used eight 2x4s plus a one-ton engine hoist to convert my 200 lbs and 20 inches of throw into the 3000 lbs per square inch foot-powered "Adelphi Block Press," aka The BEAST.
This image is my version of Adelphi's logo.
I create multi-impression linocut block prints shaped as einstein tiles.
Paper is 11" x 10", image is 10" x 8". Oil on Stonehenge paper, with deckled right edge. Finished sizes vary slightly. Limited edition of 8.
