This work belongs to the Sisters & Hipsters series and is dedicated to all seniors who, although they recognize that they are no longer young, refuse to give up their vitality and their joy of living.
Each stroke reflects the balance between acceptance of the passage of time and resistance to letting life lose its color. Her gestures and outfits intertwine the memories of a vibrant childhood, the memories of a lifetime, and the wisdom acquired… along the way.
Those who go through this stage understand well the feeling of gradually becoming less "relevant" in younger circles—family, children, grandchildren, or colleagues—and at the same time, they feel the call to share their experience before it's too late.
This painting is, in essence, a tribute to that transition: a celebration of the elegance, irony, and freedom that emerge when one fully embraces the time one has lived.
