‘Objects of Desire’ positions art as the central object of desire in an ad-like campaign using the same techniques utilised by luxury brands. The artwork was created from photography of the original painting "TIME!", in the style of an ad-campaigns of luxury goods. The positioning was also inspired by the social media phenomenon 'Flaunt your wealth challenge' that conquered Asia. Number of photographs of the artwork ‘TIME!’ were staged in the artist’s… studio in Singapore, using luxury goods and jewelry from brands like Cartier, Gucci, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Dior, Hermès, and Veuve Clicquot (The brands are not official sponsors). The staged art was shot from a platform built above it and was printed, as well as exhibited. The piece has been featured in the Art Harald as part of the Broken Capitalism exhibition and shown in the Hatch Art Project, Olal Works Gallery, as well as UBS and OCBC banks in Singapore. The photograph on metal is a limited edition series, 7/10 remain.
Mihov is a painter, digital artist, and visual artist whose background bridges the worlds of global finance and post-communist Bulgarian art, enriched by training in both Orthodox iconography and contemporary portraiture. His Cerebral Figurative Expressionism fuses oil, watercolor, collage, and precious metals into layered canvases that intertwine capitalist symbols with spiritual iconography, resulting in visually striking, analytical works. Mihov’s art invites viewers to reflect deeply on personal values within a capitalist culture, provoking both introspection and emotional engagement.
