About this artwork
In this work, I explored the vibrant contrasts of Fauvist Expressionism.
The young woman in the foreground, with her luminous green hair and dreamy gaze, embodies a modern force intertwined with the memory of the non-conformist 70s.
She is also, in her character, very close to Jeanne Hébuterne, Modigliani's companion.
She smokes, free and dreamy.
I made a bold choice of colors, as the bright pink of the lips and the golden background inject… a palpable energy into each stroke.
Lara is part of my series “Les parisiennes”, a series created from Parisian metro tickets from 1920.
This painting is also a celebration of boldness and unconventional beauty, bringing to every space a presence that challenges the conventional and inspires admiration.
"Lara" was exhibited in an art gallery in Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games, making it a work of unique value.
"I define myself as a painter of the soul and of color."
