About this artwork
Describing a work is always a careful and sometimes even embarrassing process.
I am no different. Nevertheless, to briefly explain the flow and essence of my work, I am an artist who started from the conceptual and moved to the abstract.
At first, I drew pictures with clear shapes, but as time went by, the lines and structures were simplified and reconstructed, and I gradually moved toward the abstract form.
In my case, rather than calling it complete… abstraction, it would be more accurate to view it as ‘expressive abstraction’ derived from shapes.
The Hanji works introduced in this exhibition are also an extension of this flow.
I did not simply draw pictures, but tried to express the excitement (excitement and rhythm) and the beauty of lines in them.
