About this artwork
At first, I drew pictures with clear shapes, but as time went by, the lines and structures were simplified and reconstructed, and I gradually moved toward the abstract form.
In my case, rather than calling it complete abstraction, it would be more accurate to view it as ‘expressive abstraction’ derived from shapes.
The Hanji works introduced in this exhibition are also an extension of this flow.
I did not simply draw pictures, but tried to express… the excitement (excitement and rhythm) and the beauty of lines in them.
These works, in which lines flow freely as if dancing, are the result of my own techniques and the sense of my hands that have been accumulated over a long period of time. The movement of lines repeated at a fast pace and the way the whol
