About this artwork
Well, I think the best way to describe the progression of this painting is: A combination of randomness and lots of doodling to (almost) endless fine tuning. You can tell that a lot of pouring has been done, which results in a heavy texture. The 'plan', as much as I ever have one, was to create a 'Rothko-ish' composition. Two rectangles relating to one another...and slightly disengaging.

At the age 16 Nartana enrolled in the 'Fachoberschule fuer Gestaltung', followed by Fachhochschule fuer visuelle Kommunikation. in Aachen, his hometown. Nartana left Germany and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, eventually establishing himself as an artist and member of the Counsel or the Arts and the Society of Artists in Santa Fe, New Mexico and for the last 18 years living in Thailand.
