I once arrived very late for the screening of the Jane Campion's beautiful film "The piano" and had to sit in the front row. If you haven't seen it, it starts with a spectacularly rough sea pounding on the a beach in New Zealand. It was an 'immersive' experience, - I almost drowned. I have always loved the score for the film by Michael Nyman and often play it while I am painting. This image probably arose from seeing the actress, Holly Hunter, going…
