"Amun" - stone sculpture
This original andesite sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the talented Bulgarian contemporary professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov, deeply inspired by postmodernism, neoclassicism and contemporary portraiture. It is a stunning male bust portrait, carved in one solid piece of andesite rock. In ancient Egyptian mythology Amun (Amon) was a god of the sun and the air, and his name means the Hidden One, the Invisible,… the Mysterious Of Form, and unlike most other Egyptian gods, he was considered Lord of All who encompassed every aspect of creation. He was usually represented as a man wearing a crown with vertical plume. The artwork is one amazing contemporary solid stone masterpiece and exquisite modern home décor.

Ognyan Chitakov is an established Bulgarian sculptor whose works have featured in national prizes and exhibitions. He loves sculpture for all the elements it allows him to gather together: form, space, function, architecture, design, engineering, technology and - above all - art. He primarily produces stone works that carry ancient and sacred connections, and whose scale ranges from the modest to the monumental.
