About this artwork
Beneath a veneer of acrylic and oil paint, this work reveals a veritable cartography of intimacy. The material, worked into reliefs and geological stratifications, does not merely occupy space: it petrifies time and gives form to emotion. Through the fractures in the surface, a chromatic life seethes. Cobalt and ultramarine blues rise like raw sapphires, embodying clarity and memory. Magenta and purple emerge like veins of rubies, vibrant with passion…
and humanity. Finally, bursts of amber and golden ochre illuminate the whole, symbols of resilience and rediscovered light.
Between tension and serenity, the painting captures the moment when chaos becomes a jewel. An invitation to explore the beauty hidden beneath the layers of time.

- Works on commission
Omphale Forhan is a painter and art therapist, trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Blois, with degrees in Art History and Cultural Mediation, and a passion for textiles and haute couture. She works with oil paints applied with a palette knife, acrylics, collage, resin, and India ink, blending figuration and lyrical abstraction, sometimes adorned with gold leaf. A vibrant colorist, she explores sensuality, identity, the sacred, movement, and the universality of the body, creating works where the power of emotions is embodied in matter, triggering a profound and poetic resonance in the viewer.
