This original oil painting on canvas is a contemporary still life of roses in a glass vase, built around chiaroscuro—that quiet drama where light feels almost physical and shadow has weight. I kept the scene simple on purpose: a few stems, a fallen petal, and a room that seems to hold its breath.
The words in the background—“where light lives, shadow breathes”—are not decoration for me. They’re the inner sentence behind the image, the way I experience… painting: light revealing, shadow protecting, both necessary. I painted the flowers with modern realism, but I let the space around them soften and fade, so the bouquet feels like a small presence in a larger silence.
