About this artwork
This is an exploration of the light and patterns created on an underwater nude, together with coral on the seabed. The nude is almost life size in this painting and therefore creating quite a visual impact.
A very large gallery wrapped canvas with the painted image continuing around the edges and so there is no extra framing requirement. This canvas is stretched over a very stable and strong composite stretcher (wood and aluminium) which is resistant… to any warping and is relatively light in comparison to similar sized wooden stretchers.
This centre piece artwork is painted on a particularly smooth linen canvas that enables the paint, particularly on the figure and water, to be blended quite smoothly whereas on the coral the painted surface is left with a slight texture.
