About this artwork
Probably the most well known of all the tea clippers that raced back from China with cargoes of tea in the nineteenth century. The Cutty Sark was launched in 1869 and is the only surviving tea clipper today preserved in dry dock in Greenwich London.
This is a very traditional and accurate original oil on linen canvas depicting this fine classic tea clipper in the environment where she earned her reputation.
