About this artwork

An original traditionally painted depicting two of the finest clipper ships of the nineteenth century. These rival ships and others raced back annually to Europe, in particular England, with cargoes of tea. With the first ship back achieving the highest price for the tea and the accolade of being the fastest ship so the competition was usually quite strong fought.

Painted with close attention to detail and accuracy, the artist is recognised internationally… for his marine paintings and regularly exhibits with the Royal Society of Marine Artists.
