About this artwork
Confidently and unerringly, a ship is striving out of the picture into the distance. Despite its almost clumsy appearance and heaviness, it seems to glide quietly, almost to float over the sea. It's obviously getting old. Its rusty surface is marked by salt, water and air. Nevertheless, it doesn't look as if it has had its day, but radiates stability and power.
