THE DARK SIDE OF GOLF
Still in the GOLFARIANE movement, this sphere represents the dark side of Golf, in any case that is a bit the idea that the artist has of it.
By coloring this solid of revolution in shiny black, the balls appear significantly smaller and are unmistakably reminiscent of Iranian Beluga caviar.
We know that sturgeon eggs tend towards shiny grey, Philippe FARES managed to achieve this dark shine by alternating layers of black… spray paint with layers of sprayed varnish. This allows the light to penetrate to the whiteness of the golf balls and to obtain a rather pearl-grey tint in the end.
THE PROLIFERATION OF INTERCONNECTED BALLS ALLOWS THIS OVEN PHENOMENON.
This solid of revolution with an anthracite color also evokes molten lava, when the central lighting is red.
Due to these geometric properties, GOLFCAVIAR joins the Art Fractal group.
Philippe Fares is a contemporary French artist whose career has been profoundly shaped by the diversity of cultures and the interaction of art and science. His unique perspective, sharpened by a childhood spent in sub-Saharan Africa, is a testament to his early exposure to the art world, particularly to the influence of primitive arts. Returning to France at the age of 16, Philippe embarked on a path that allowed him to cultivate his understanding of Western arts while pursuing scientific studies.
Philippe Fares’ artworks are meticulously constructed using scientific methods and careful planning. His creations often feature a recurring tiling pattern, a meticulously balanced play with chance. This synthesis of meticulous design and the unpredictability of chance gives his works a dynamic and intriguing quality.
