About this artwork
It is a geometric solid, representing an aluminum tube curved at 540°, which, unlike the torus, does not close on itself.
Secondly, Philippe Fares pixelated the object with ten remote-controlled blue electroluminescent lamps. In perfect harmony with the monochrome appearance of the object, these resonate with the shine of the metal.
As we can see, the sculpture has been invaded by a colony of ants, over its entire surface. This sudden invasion… is perhaps a response to the noise of the operation of what could be a Francis turbine.
From an artistic angle, the design of the work is based on flexible and rounded shapes. The chosen metal remains consistent with the coldness of the lighting and the functional considerations of the object are suggested.
