About this artwork
This work is painted in the blackest black, with 99 percent light absorption. The work is segmented by a longitudinal cut three millimeters thick, which, thanks to the effect of a methacrylate mirror, reflects the viewer only when viewing the work from the exact center.
Each part of the work represents a hemisphere of the human brain and in the center, the light.
The left hemisphere of the brain assists with rational thinking and logical skills… like math and language. On the other hand, the right hemisphere of the brain assists with creative activities, like the arts, and with emotional connection with others.

Pin Vega is an award-winning painter, sculptor and photographer whose works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions in the United States, Germany, Portugal, Belgium as well as in his native Spain. Pin Vega makes and carves the supports and frames for his own paintings. He also makes his own paints by agglutinating top-quality pigments with water or different types of resins and incorporates mineral elements and scaled figures to oversize his work and make us, the viewers, feel like we are contemplating it like a God contemplating his creation from above.
