About this artwork
This work is a living fusion of technique and emotion. I used acrylic, resin and slate pigment to capture an ethereal atmosphere. to emulate eastern spirituality, the tension between calm and passion. It is a tribute to the intriguing duality of existence; a constant reminder of the profound beauty that lies in balance.
Zen aesthetics have contributed to internalizing or spiritualizing contemporary Western painting.
In times of crisis in painting… due to the extraordinary mastery of digital and visual technologies, Zen thought and aesthetics could contribute to its material and spiritual revitalization.
All the works in this series are made with powdered slate and pigments on an MDF board. The gray area of matte quality and always larger contrasts with the lower part of the work made with red cadmium pigment and crystalline quality epoxy resin.

Pin Vega is an award-winning painter, sculptor and photographer whose works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions in the United States, Germany, Portugal, Belgium as well as in his native Spain. His Pictosculptures, as he calls them, are found in different collections around the world and have created a trend. His art brings to life the 'invisible forces of Mother Nature', using natural elements to produce a 'new natural reality'.
Pin Vega makes and carves the supports and frames for his own paintings. He also makes his own paints by agglutinating top-quality pigments with water or different types of resins and incorporates mineral elements and scaled figures to oversize his work and make us, the viewers, feel like we are contemplating it like a God contemplating his creation from above.
