About this artwork
In the series FRAGMENTS, I continued my exploration of alienation and social distance begun several years earlier in ATTITUDES. I focused on the physical and psychological fragmentation of images, repetition of various types and the exploration of edge tension between elements inside the image as well as on its outside borders. My colors, particularly warm tones became increasingly saturated.
In this image, I explored the vast emotional and psychological… distance that can exist between persons in intimate relationships via the use of identical chromatic characteristics and the apparent physical merging of identities in a situation exhibiting no sensorial interaction.
