About this artwork
In “Quod Mihi Restat” the transfer of image becomes the core of the creative process. The figure is not painted, but transferred onto a gesso base worked with vertical reliefs that determine which fragments remain, which wear away, and which are transformed into almost abstract areas.
The monochrome palette accentuates the ethereal nature of the work. The partial losses, the raised edges, and the milky veil left by the transferred paper create a… sense of transition: identity seems to appear and vanish simultaneously. The surface, far from being a neutral background, functions as a membrane that retains memory.
Although the anatomy remains recognizable, the fragmentation opens an interpretive space where presence is no longer stable, but ever-changing. The work invites contemplation of what remains amidst the loss, without imposing a rigid interpretation.
