About this artwork
In Red Flag, I work with a controlled layering of acrylic to explore the relationship between color, transparency, and compositional decentralization. The red base, achieved through glazes layered over yellow-ochre, white, and black backgrounds, generates a vibrant surface in which subtle material variations emerge.
The blue element, deliberately offset to the left, introduces a complementary chromatic contrast and a spatial tension that breaks… the symmetry of the field. The rectangle is not intended to be a stable shape, but a visual signal: a presence that alters the perceptual balance of the work.
The entire work is part of the Red series, an investigation into monochromatic dominance and the ways in which a primary color can dialogue with minimal geometric structures, generating an open and essential visual narrative.

I'm a self-taught painter, and what sets me apart is my free and instinctive use of color, which in my work is layered to create dense textures and crowded urban landscapes. I began with more spontaneous and light-hearted works, then evolved towards a more conscious and critical approach. At the same time, I explore abstraction with works inspired by Pollock and Rothko. My Cities are born from abstract foundations. The City as a complex organism that reflects the contradictions of our time. My series explore three great fragilities: the vulnerability of cities to climate change, the wounds inflicted by man through wars and manipulated ideologies, and the inequalities between glittering centers and forgotten peripheries. I paint universal, non-geographic cities as a metaphor for the human condition: places that bear the hopes, scars, and tensions of our time.
