About this artwork
nervous.system is an early work in an ongoing exploration of the hidden forces that shape how we move through the world. a controlled field of blue is interrupted by a sharp diagonal form, creating a surface that feels both stable and unsettled.
rather than depicting a specific subject, the painting gives form to a state of activation — the subtle tension between regulation and disruption, calm and response. it marks the beginning of a question… that continues throughout restless sky's practice: how do we make visible what is felt but difficult to name?

restless sky is a brighton-based artist whose practice moves between two connected bodies of work: nervous.system and archive.box.
nervous.system is made in real time — atmosphere, structure and interruption translating pressure, control and emotional states as they are happening.
archive.box is made with what remains — objects, receipts, photographs, packaging, labels and other fragments of lived experience are gathered, buried, obscured and transformed into new work.
across both bodies, restless sky is interested in what is revealed, what is concealed and what is carried forward.
one body of work is made in real time. the other is made with what remains.
