restless sky is a brighton-based artist working in abstract painting and mixed media. she describes her practice simply: “i paint my nervous system.”
two connected bodies of work sit at the centre of her practice: nervous.system and archive.box.
nervous.system is made in real time — building, veiling, scraping and interrupting paint in response to pressure, control and shifting emotional states. atmospheric colour meets disrupted structure, holding moments of tension, containment and release.
archive.box begins with what remains — receipts, paperwork, photographs, packaging, objects and other fragments of lived experience. drawn from her own archives and those entrusted to her, these materials are buried, obscured and transformed into paintings that interpret personal histories.
across both bodies, restless sky explores visibility, concealment and the unstable promise of clarity: what surfaces, what stays buried and what is carried forward.
