About this artwork
pressure.under explores the invisible weight of expectation. Layers of deep blue build and compress against one another, creating a sense of tension beneath an apparently calm surface. the work reflects the experience of carrying responsibility, ambition and unspoken pressure—holding everything together while something heavier gathers underneath. rather than depicting a landscape, the painting becomes a psychological space where restraint and overwhelm…
exist at the same time.

restless sky is a brighton-based artist whose practice moves between two connected bodies of work: nervous.system and archive.box.
nervous.system is made in real time — atmosphere, structure and interruption translating pressure, control and emotional states as they are happening.
archive.box is made with what remains — objects, receipts, photographs, packaging, labels and other fragments of lived experience are gathered, buried, obscured and transformed into new work.
across both bodies, restless sky is interested in what is revealed, what is concealed and what is carried forward.
one body of work is made in real time. the other is made with what remains.
