About this artwork
It is the story of a king without a crown who thinks he is managing a kingdom he does not own. He knows how to use fine words but only generates false hopes. His world boils down to money and profit, blind to what surrounds him.
In a very personal writing style, Rimp composes a portrait made up of geometric shapes where the multitude of signs create an effect of swarming, even deliquescence. In this form the void and the full respond to each other,… we no longer know to which world this composition belongs. The rendering can evoke African masks or Aboriginal art, a journey towards first cultures and animist and totemist beliefs.

The work on linen canvas is protected by two coats of mat acrylic varnish and has a hanging system.
