About this artwork
London explores the city as a space of memory, transition, and appearance. The suspended figure in the foreground emerges as an uncertain presence within a fragmented urban landscape where architecture, reflections, and visual traces overlap until the image becomes experience rather than representation.
The work addresses the idea of urban memory: recognizable places that cease to be specific locations and become emotional states. Translucent layers,… interruptions, and eroded areas create a constant tension between presence and disappearance, between recollection and construction.
Here, the city does not function as a backdrop but as living matter absorbing identities, time, and traces.

Roberto Gutiérrez Currás (1974, Seville, Spain) is a painter based in Marbella, represented by Galería Nítido.
She has held solo exhibitions in Spain and Mexico, including at the Ralli Museum (Marbella) and the Museum of Anthropology in Xalapa (Mexico). Her work has been presented internationally in New York, Paris, Shanghai, and Mexico City.
He has been a finalist in various painting awards, including the Juan Francés National Prize (2025) and the Almuzara Prize (2022).
Her recent work focuses on painting as a process, exploring the instability of the image through layering, transfers, and material intervention.
