About this artwork
The role of this images is to communicate, evoke and engage primarily with the powerful elements in nature. Individual existence can seem fragile, the land so expansive open and powerful.
The representational expression is attentive to the desolate vastness of its natural sculpted formations. They reveal a powerful conceptual ability to conjure the revitalizing severity of nature. Timeless expansive forms, suffused with the desire to create abstract… component grain texture. A distinct simplicity of line is balanced well with complex midground, emphasizing a deliberate abstract high grain texture. This technic and style of fragmented intent "pushed process," amplifies the complex structural value comprised within the emulsion. Altered grain value, individual complex crystal palette, intentionally depicting the severity of using development techniques to alter the structure and perspective of the print. Traditional hand development processing techniques

« Experience allows us the courage to be creative, it's also the rope that binds you. »
Robin J. Turner is a U.K. based photographer whose works have exhibited in numerous solo and group events in London and Edinburgh. For Turner, becoming emersed in a project and trying to feel relative to the subject matter is a form of cognitive therapy. He approaches each piece with "new eyes" retaining the first impression, then he set about building context and narrative, capturing both emotion and energy.
