The seabed displayed in the shop window represents the distant horizon, as well as the phenomenon it represents: rising sea levels. It is therefore distant yet ever-present. This perspective places us in the position of spectators. The water drips from the window, signifying that the phenomenon not only overflows, but spills right up to us, becoming palpable and tangible. I present a contrasting image of the shop window, in black and white, depicting…
a kind of decay, as a reminder of the consequences of this phenomenon.
