About this artwork
Jackson Pollock is one of the most recognizable artists in the world because of his famous drip paintings. I found a peculiar similarity between the drips on Pollock's paintings and the lightning emanating from the hammer that the superhero Thor uses to cast light rays upon his enemies. I thought it would be an interesting encounter if Pollock and Thor ever met. This painting is an abstract representation of that encounter.

Ruben Nieto was born in Veracruz, Mexico. He holds a BFA from the Universidad de Guanajuato and an MFA in Arts and Technology from The University of Texas at Dallas. Nieto has shown internationally in Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Canada, Mexico, and the U.S.
